Let's go get married! At this point I was so excited to walk out on the beach and say our vows in front of our family and friends. I'll let the pictures do most of the talking.
The groomsmen and Tate walked down the aisle to the Vitamin String Quartet version of Paradise City (originally by Gun n' Roses)
The ladies walked down the aisle to a classic, Journey's Don't Stop Believin', again performed by Vitamin String Quartet.
I walked down the aisle to a guitar version of Canon in D.
We started the ceremony with a "hand ceremony" or "blessing of the hands". The hand blessing is a ritual meant to draw the couple together. It is believed that the hands are a connection to the heart, and a he and blessing symbolically brings two hearts together. We thought it was a nice change from the typical sand ceremonies that one sees at the beach.
We said our vows...
...and exchanged rings,
...signed the marriage certificate,
... and sealed it with our first kiss as husband and wife.
Our recessional song was "Wouldn't it be Nice?" by the Beach Boys, as a tribute to my parents, who loved the Beach Boys.
Did you/ are you including any untraditional aspects in your ceremony?
