Weekend Recap

The three inches of snow fall on Friday was cause for celebration! School closed three hours early so the buses could get the kiddos home before the roads became undriveable. My home visit canceled, so I was able to get in a workout and a manicure! I also picked up a few groceries from Healthy Life Market (our only option here, I'd kill for a Trader Joe's or Whole Foods) and was home early enough to cook dinner  (chicken "fried" brown rice) and relax!

On Saturday, Tate was at work,  so I hit the gym and FINALLY mailed out our wedding invitations. I also was able to unpack and put away shower gifts and started on my Thank Yous. I met up with two girlfriends for dinner at Ichiban. Ichiban is known here in Charleston for it's sushi, but I wasn't in a sushi mood, so I had miso soup and the chicken vegetable rolls, which were bland. I was a little disappointed, but I had a bite of rock shrimp tempura and "Melt in Your Mouth" roll, which were both pretty good.

We met up with the boys for a few drinks and checked out the new country bar, Cactus Jack's, before calling it a night. Tate had off on Sunday, so we enjoyed a lazy morning with eggs and coffee for breakfast (which I know isn't approved for the cleanse part of the 24 Day challenge, but I was in the mood for a hot drink). I prepped my meals for the entire week as well. I made salsa chicken, roasted broccoli, a lean beef version of Jamie Eason's turkey meatloaf muffins, hardboiled eggs, and tried my hand at strawberry chia jam muffins. They were yummy, but stuck to the paper cupcake liners that I used.

We wrapped up the night by watching Hit and Run. Has anyone seen it? It had Dax Shepard, Kristen Bell, Tom Arnold, and Bradley Cooper. It was a nice light movie to watch. We also watched Dark Night Rises last week. Love me some Christian Bale as Batman!

  1. Can I just say that I LOVE reading a blog about the city I live in!! I hope that's not too weird, but for so long I could never find one. Sounds like a super-fun weekend! :)
