I Workout...

*Warning: Random workout related pictures ahead!*

In December, I starting using a really great cardio and meal plan that I combined with strength training. I was sporadically attending bootcamp and putting together my own upper/ lower workout splits. With the holidays smack in the middle of the four-week plan, I ended up not completing it. I did end up with a great resource and have been using the cardio workouts and recipes though.

Last year, Jamie Eason, who is very well know in the fitness world, developed  the LiveFit Trainer,  a free 12 week program available at bodybuilding.com. There are videos to show you how to do each exercise, helpful hints, and a full meal plan, with a grocery list and recipes. Since I am taking a break from bootcamp, but want to continue to increase my strength and muscle (I lost so much strength and muscle mass after surgery) I have decided to take the plunge!

Two weeks post-op, but still hitting the gym

Today I completed week two of Phase One, which most people describe as a warm-up for the real muscle-building workout. There were four days of workouts and no cardio, but I cheated and did some walking and sprint/ walk intervals on the treadmill. I have added a few exercises each of the days because I felt the workouts were pretty easy. This sentiment is echoed by a lot of other bloggers who have completed the program, but their reviews also assure me that next week is going to be brutal.

As for the meal plan, I will probably stick to it about 80%. I am not eating wheat or dairy as part of the 24 day challenge, so I will make substitutions as needed. Sundays will be my prep days for meals. I found a HUGE assortment of Rubbermaid meal containers at Sam's Club last week. They are great for packing meals. I can just grab one of each meal and  throw it in my cooler each morning.

I am really looking forward to making some great changes in my body over the next few weeks. The combination of clean eating, these workouts and the supplements that are part of 24 Day Challenge should really bring about some significant results as long as I stick with it. I am  hoping to be able to blog about my progress and may even put up some progress pictures.
